Indiana State Senator Takes Gloves Off For New Illegal Immigration Law

Posted By admin

Indiana State Senator Mike Delph Illegal Immigration LegislationThanks to the great visitors of this website, we learned that Indiana State Senator Mike Delph (R) recently filed legislation to rid Indiana of illegal immigration. Much like other very tough legislation passed in Arizona and other states, this bill would severely punish businesses who hire illegal aliens.

(STATEHOUSE) — Sen. Mike Delph (R-Carmel) filed one of the toughest illegal immigration measures in the country aimed at punishing those who harbor, transport or employ illegal immigrants. Senate Bill 335 is modeled after laws in Arizona, Georgia, Arkansas and Oklahoma.

“It’s time we unite as Hoosiers to uphold and enforce the rule of law.  No longer should we tolerate the failure of the federal government to protect our borders and ensure our national security,” Delph said. “We have a proud tradition in this country of being a nation of immigrants, the great melting pot. But we also have a proud tradition and respect for one of the basic and fundamental pillars of democracy, the respect for the rule of law.  It is intolerable that the Federal government has allowed the erosion of that respect, and as a result, now states like Indiana must stand and offer assistance.”

Highlights of Delph’s bill include:

  • Requiring the Superintendent of State Police to negotiate a Memorandum of Understanding with the federal government to assist with enforcement of federal immigration and customs law;
  • Prohibiting a person from knowingly employing an unauthorized alien;
  • Requiring  the Attorney General to investigate complaints of violation of the law and local prosecutors to file actions against those who knowingly violate the law;
  • Requiring a court to hold a hearing, make a determination and:
    • Order the employer to terminate employment, sign an affidavit with court, be placed on probation for three years, order the suspension of all licenses to operate in the state of Indiana if perpetrator fails to sign an affidavit with the court (first violation);
    • Revoke all licenses to operate in the State of Indiana if second offense occurs during probationary period (second violation).
  • Prohibiting any unit of government, state or local, from entering into or continuing a public contract with a firm that employs an illegal alien;
  • Requiring all hospitals to report total costs of care of the illegal alien population to the Indiana State Department of Health;
  • Requiring employers to verify employment eligibility through the federal pilot program after Dec. 31, 2008; and
  • Makes it a Class A Misdemeanor against those found guilty of transporting, shielding from detection, concealing, or harboring an illegal alien. Subsequent offenses would be a class D or C felony.

SB 335 will be heard in the Senate Committee on Pensions & Labor on Wednesday, January 16 at 9:00 a.m.

“All citizens who are concerned about illegal immigration are encouraged to come to the Statehouse next Wednesday and voice their opinions during the hearing,” Delph said.

Illegal Immigrants Cost Los Angeles County $37 Million in November and $1 Billion a Year

Posted By admin

Illegal Immigration Burden on Economy WelfareIllegal Immigrants do not put a huge burden on the government, that’s just anti-illegal racists blowing it out of proportion, right?

Get a load of this:

New statistics from the Department of Public Social Services reveal that illegal aliens and their families in Los Angeles County collected over $37 million in welfare and food stamp allocations in November 2007 – up $3 million dollars from September, announced Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

Twenty five percent of the all welfare and food stamps benefits is going directly to the children of illegal aliens. Illegals collected over $20 million in welfare assistance for November 2007 and over $16 million in monthly food stamp allocations for a projected annual cost of $444 million.

“This new information shows an alarming increase in the devastating impact Illegal immigration continues to have on Los Angeles County taxpayers,” said Antonovich. “With $220 million for public safety, $400 million for healthcare, and $444 million in welfare allocations, the total cost for illegal immigrants to County taxpayers far exceeds $1 billion a year – not including the millions of dollars for education.”

This is just one county in one state! One billion dollars a year paid by Los Angeles County taxpayers for illegal immigrants. Mind blowing.

Have Cancer in Texas? Sorry, No Medical Help Due to Illegals

Posted By admin

Illegal Immigrants Hospital Health CareIllegal immigrants help our economy right? After all, that’s what some of the visitors to this website have been telling us lately. Here is yet another story detailing the incredible burden that illegal immigrants place on just one facet of our economy - the health care industry.

According to the The Dallas Morning News, the state-funded University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston may have to end some potentially life-saving services such as cancer treatment. Yes, you read that right - cancer treatment. Due to the huge demand of illegal immigrants on the hospital, the university hospital is in a serious financial situation. Other nearby state and county funded hospitals are in the same position.

Texas paid $47 million last year for illegal immigrants’ hospital care, which was only a fraction of the total expenses. The residents of Texas ended up paying the rest of the bill.

Doctors have tried to stop non-emergency care for illegal immigrants, but wacko pro-immigration advocacy groups have threatened to have illegals sent directly to emergency rooms where they have to be treated based on current federal law.

Here are some interesting facts:

•72 percent of Dallas’ immigrants are from Mexico. The national average is 28 percent.

•82 percent of births at Parkland Hospital are Hispanic, and 40 percent of their parents are illegal immigrants.

•Unreimbursed state Medicaid expenditures for illegal immigrants in 2000: $18.1 million; in 2005: $38.7 million. That’s an increase of 114.3 percent.

SOURCES: Texas comptroller’s office; data compiled by DFW International from various studies

It would be a tradgedy if a legal American with cancer died from lack of care due to the illegal immigration burden on our health care system.

Immigration Laws Work - Illegals Decide to Leave Arizona

Posted By admin

Arizonal Illegal Immigration Law Makes Illegal Aliens LeaveWell, what do you know. If you enforce existing immigration laws, and pass a new law to go after employers hiring illegal immigrants, the illegal aliens decide to leave! What a novel idea . . .

Arizona is probably the best example of a state that takes the problems of illegal immigration seriously. To put it plainly, they don’t mess around, which is important as Arizona is the most popular crossing point for illegal immigrants.

Beginning January 1st, 2008, new legislation will take into effect that will punish Arizona employers who hire illegal immigrants. Arizona voters approved the employer sanctions law which was designed by Arizona Representative Russell Pearce to force illegal immigrants to leave the state.

Businesses in Arizona that hire illegal immigrants could receive penalties ranging from probation to a 10-day suspension of their business license. Should the business get caught hiring illegal immigrants a second time, their business license could be revoked. That is one tough law - and more than one state should take note. The voters spoke and their elected officials actually listened.

What do you do if you are an illegal immigrant in Arizona? They have a pretty tough decision right now. It is reported that many illegal immigrants are choosing to leave Arizona or return home to Mexico. More than likely, they are going to move to neighboring states or better yet, a sanctuary city or state.

Illegal Immigration Problem Summed Up Perfectly

Posted By admin

It’s rare to find a good article in the newspapers about illegal immigration. Mike Bailey with The Courier News made the rare a little more common this week with a great article to combat those pro-immigration activists out there. His writing is so simple, but it is summed up perfectly. There are three main points to the article:

1. The debate is not about immigrants or immigration.

This distinction is very important, as Mike points out. The debate is about ILLEGAL immigrants and ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION.

It is the policy of The Courier News to use the term “illegal alien” or “illegal immigrant.” News outlets are under extreme pressure from activist groups to use terms such as “undocumented worker.” That would be like calling a drug dealer an “unlicensed pharmacist.” It is intentionally misleading. So is calling everyone — legal or illegal — an “immigrant.”

It is very refreshing to finally hear a journalist admit they are pressured to use silly terms such as “undocumented worker.” His analogy is great - it would be like calling a drug dealer an “unlicensed pharmacist.” Just perfect, perfect, perfect.

Mike goes on to make an important point we’ve made here before:

Almost everyone in America today is descended from immigrants. Legal immigrants followed procedures, filed the proper paperwork and adhered to the laws in order to arrive in this country. Illegal immigrants did not. Calling everyone an “immigrant” diminishes the debate to xenophobia. Manipulation of language to change the perception is crucial in diminishing the issue to one of inconsequential differences or elevating it to racism, depending on the tactic.

2. It can never be racism to enforce existing laws.

How many times do pro-immigration activists pull out the race card? As Mike puts it:

Refusing to enforce certain laws because of the color of one’s skin or ethnicity would be racism. Not extending equal treatment under the law would be racism. Claiming rights for yourself that you deny to people of color would be racism.

Enforcing existing laws is not racism. Seeking to stop the flow of millions of illegal immigrants into this country is not in and of itself racist. American Indians found out what happens when you don’t control immigration.

3. The solution:
Secure the Borders, Prosecute Employers and Stop Public Funding for Illegals

Hard-liners want the government to round up and deport every single illegal immigrant in this country. This would be done by the same government that couldn’t get 100,000 people out of New Orleans — and they wanted to go.

Wannabe Illegal Immigrant Stays With Child

Posted By admin

Mexican Immigrant Saved American BoyUnlike some pro-illegal immigration websites, who just post stories spun by the major media in support of illegal immigration, we here at Say No to Illegal Immigration dot com try to be fair and objective. This past week a story went through the major media rounds, getting much attention in newspapers and on radio and television. Surprisingly, it was a real story about a Mexican who was trying to illegally cross the border, but found a young boy alone near the border and stayed with him until authorities arrived.

“I am a father of four children. For that, I stayed,” Manuel Jesus Cordova Soberanes said in Spanish from his home in Mexico. “I never could have left him. Never.”

Cordova, a 26-year old bricklayer, found the young boy near the end of his long walk to the U.S. border.  The 9-year old boy, Christopher Buztheitner, had his little dog with him and was carrying a piece from the wrecked van he just came from. Christoper’s mother was killed when their van ran off a cliff north of the Mexican border. It was Thanksgiving Day to top it off.

They didn’t speak the same language, but Cordova stayed with Christopher and built a campfire while the boy slept. He knew he was going to be caught by the authorities, but stayed to make sure the 9-year old was going to be safe.

Cordova has been called “very, very special and compassionate” by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff, and the mayor of Magdalena de Kino in Mexico even called Cordova a hero. “He left everything to save that boy,” Mayor Adriana Hoyos Rodriguez said.

Granted, this is a nice story and of course the media was going to soak it up and drown us with it. It’s very commendable what Cordova has done, and he may deserve to be called a hero for making sure the boy was found. It definitely was unselfish to give himself up and put the safety of a boy first.

However, this does not mean that we need citizens of Mexico to be constantly crossing our border just in case a boy needs help. Although he did a good deed, this does not give Cordova the green light for a temporary visa or legal status. And even though it is a good story, why doesn’t the media ever report on any of the bad illegal immigration stories?

Prenatal Care and Health Care for Illegal Immigrants

Posted By admin

In a recent online article by Ben Cair from The New Republic, there are a few interesting facts about health care for illegal immigrants. Well, an interesting story and a lot of pro-immigration rhetoric from an author who uses the term “undocumented immigrant” every other sentence. Besides “illegal immigrant” being a lot faster to type, it’s the correct legal term!

The beginning of the article was about a doctor at Pennsylvania Hospital who oversaw the emergency room treatment of a young woman who was seven months pregnant. The Doctor advised her condition, known as eclampsia, was “rarely seen in the United States.” The illegal immigrant and her newborn were treated for three months, flushing the illegal mother’s brain of excess blood three times.

The cost? $250,000.00 - that’s right, TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!

For those of you slow at math, that equates to a quarter of a million dollars. Thanks to many Pennsylvania residents’ complete tax checks, and federal tax money as well, you paid for this one illegal immigrant’s health care. That’s just one illegal, one story, and one major burden on our tax dollars.

However, the article states that if the illegal immigrant had been receiving publicly funded prenatal care, the illness and cost could have been avoided. Take the $250,000 figure and subtract $249,700 from it. According to the doctor, it would have taken only a few hundred dollars worth of prenatal care to avoid the illness and huge expense.

The article also spins health care for illegal immigrants by using a statistic from 1998. “One study in the American Journal of Public Health found that, in 1998, the average health care expenditures of a Hispanic immigrant, documented or undocumented, totaled $972. For a white, U.S.-born citizen, they were over $3,000.” Mind you that is one study from almost ten years ago, when we didn’t have over 12 million illegal aliens living in this country. Back in the “good ole’ days” when many illegal immigrants didn’t think they “owned this country” and didn’t abuse free handouts from all of our public resources.

What to do? Give all illegal immigrants free prenatal care? At least 15 states already are giving prenatal health care. If you live in one of those states you can thank President Bush in part for expanding S-CHIP eligibility to fetuses in 2002. One Republican platform collides with another, and the illegal immigrants win. California, one of the states with the most illegal aliens, has accepted the governments offer and provided matching state funds. So not only are Californians paying for prenatal care, but so are those of you in another state, for illegal immigrants not even using your states health care system.

But again, the question comes back, is this what our country should be doing? Give illegal immigrants free health care? It sounds like it would cost Americans less money in the long run, but how did we even get to this question? Has it really come to a point when a $250,000 hospital bill can make you wonder?

Mexican Military Invasion on U.S. Soil

Posted By admin

Some people were confused a few weeks ago by a youtube video that someone posted with a recent date in the title. Several websites posted the story as it had just happened, but it really occurred a year ago. Despite that, and since we weren’t around a year ago, it should still be on this site. Here is the disturbing story from last year, which is similar to our recent story about crime near the Texas / Mexico border.

The F.B.I. confirmed that the Mexican military crossed our border in Texas at 2:15 p.m. on January 23, 2006.  They crossed the Rio Grande and went 200 yards on American soil. Mexican military members were pointing mounted machine guns at our Border Patrol Agents, Hudspeth County Chief Deputies and Texas Highway Patrolmen.

Sara Carter, of the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, spent the over a year covering the border from San Diego to Arizona. She often heard that the Mexican military was crossing our border assisting drug smugglers and human smugglers across the border. Not only had local residents reported this to her, but also Mexican residents waiting to cross the border.

She has documents from the Department of Homeland Security to prove that 216 incursions by Mexican military have happened over the past 10 years. The Mexican military has also fired at U.S. border agents, shooting two border agents in Tucson, Arizona in 2006.

The U.S. federal government has done nothing about this. According to T.J. Bonner, President of the National Border Patrol Council, sixteen Mexican soldiers crossed our border, chased and fired shots at U.S. Border Agents in 2000. They complained to the federal government and received a form letter response from the White House.

The Mexican drug cartels have the Mexican military in their back pocket. The Mexico Embassy says the military was not in America. I think we know who to believe. The U.S. Border Agents have been given warnings to look out for Mexican military.

The White House has no response regarding Mexican military on U.S. soil pointing machine guns at U.S. Patrol Agents. They said nothing six years ago when they shot our border patrol. When does this madness stop?

New Oklahoma Immigration Law is the Toughest Ever

Posted By admin

Oklahoma passed the toughest immigration enforcement law ever. That’s right, ever. A last minute request by Latino organizations was denied Wednesday night by U.S. District Judge James Payne. The new immigration enforcement law starts today.

“In light of the plaintiffs’ failure to introduce evidence in support of their motion, and in light of plaintiffs’ limited argument in support of their motion, the court cannot conclude the plaintiffs’ right to a preliminary injunction has been clearly and unequivocally established,” Judge Payne stated.

The plaintiffs included the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Religious Leaders among others. The Judge said that they did not prove the new immigration law would cause irrevocable harm or that is was in the public’s interest.

The new immigration enforcement law, HR 1804, requires local and state law enforcement agencies to check the immigration status of anyone arrested for a felony or DUI. If the criminal is found to be an illegal immigrant, they will contact the Department of Homeland Security to have them deported. HR 1804 also requires state agencies to confirm citizenship before dispersing any type of public welfare or money. Lastly, illegal immigrants will no longer be able to get a driver’s license.

Both sides of the debate were present at the late night hearing. “This is horrible,” said Guillermo Rojas, Venezuelan native and member of Oklahoma Governor’s Advisory Council on Latin American and Hispanic Affairs. “But this has woken us up. We are many, the Hispanic people, and we will be heard,” Rojas said. “This has given us a reason to show our power and political influence.”

“We will not be intimidated by illegal aliens invading our country and dictating to us how are government should be conducted,” said Outraged Patriots founder Dan Howard. “I’ll be damned if I sit here patiently while Mexico moves here.”

This could be a precedent for other states to take further measures to stop the illegal immigration problem. The Attorney General of Oklahoma will argue on Tuesday that the lawsuit should be dismissed entirely. It will be very interesting to watch as this develops.

Laredo Texas and Nuevo Laredo Mexico - Worse than Baghdad?

Posted By admin

Laredo Texas Nuevo Laredo Mexico Illegal ImmigrationTo find feuding war lords, rampant death squads and general mayhem, all you have to do is take one step over the Texas border into Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. According to the Dallas Morning News, since 2004 more than 70 Americans have been kidnapped in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Over two dozen of the kidnapped Americans are still missing.

The town of Laredo, Texas and Nuevo Laredo, Mexico are linked by a bridge across the Rio Grande. Residents in Laredo say they and their families are afraid to even go out of their house. Unfortunately, the closest media or television station to Laredo is nearly three hours away, so they never cover these stories that have been going on for several years.

On the other side of the border in Mexico, the media is silent as well, because they are basically threatened to not report the violence. “The media on Nuevo Laredo side has been muzzled,” said Laredo Sheriff Rick Flores. “They’re not allowed to report anything that’s going on, especially any violence. They went into a newspaper agency which is called El Manana, and they threw a couple of grenades in there and they sprayed bullets, AK-47s hitting people, paralyzing one. And of course that was just a message that they wanted to pass along to let the media know that they meant business, whenever they wanted the media to stay away from publicizing whatever they were doing.”

The Sheriff of Laredo Texas has seen and heard about many tragic stories from his area. Two young girls were kidnapped and given as a prize to a Mexican drug lord. “They had gone to a concert in Nuevo Lardo, Mexico and they were on their way back when they were stopped apparently by two municipal police officers.  And (the girls were) told to get out of the car and they shoved them into a police car and they kidnapped them. What we know is apparently these two girls were then given to one of the drug lords as a prize,” explained Sheriff Flores.

Chris Burgard, filmmaker of the upcoming movie “Border”, spent a lot of time in Laredo in 2005. He explained a type of tree that the media will never tell you about. “This is just not new,” Burgard said. “Rape Trees are . . .  the coyotes when they get some of the better looking women on our side of the border, they’ll rape these women often within an earshot of their children, or their parents, or their husbands that are with the rest of the group. Then they’ll have these women hang their panties up on trees, and they become “trophy trees.” This coyote will compare his tree with the fellow down the street.  And this is the kind of violence that these ranchers and these residents are living with all up and down the southern border.”

Ranchers and families are scared to get out of their cars at night. “Souhaiterais, Texas, sixty-five miles north of the border . . . Three weeks after I left their ranch (Vickers Ranch) in 2005, at a distance of a few yards, they observed twenty soldiers in black BDUs, automatic weapons . . . first three fellows had state of the art NVG goggles, coming through their ranch. And these twenty soldiers with automatic weapons; their cargo is six civilians. This is sixty-five miles north of the border.”

So don’t let a certain political party cry about the terrible things going on in Baghdad, when there are arguably much worse crimes right in our own backyard.

Where is the outrage?

Special thanks to Glenn Beck for airing this important information.
