I frequent the closest McDonalds to my house a couple times a week for breakfast, and for several months I was waited on by the same hispanic woman who could barely speak English. I forget what the exact numbers were, but when I would get to the drive-thru, she would say in her Mexican accent, "$3.50", so I would pay her exact change and get my food. I always wondered why this McDonalds cost more than others, but figured it was because it was in a nice neighborhood. Come to find out, the combo meal really cost $3.15, but I thought she was saying $3.50, and she never once gave me change! Either she put the money in the cash register because she couldn't count American change, or she make 35 cents off me several times a week. I finally figured it out and realized she may have been saying "fifteen" versus "fifty" and she never said anything when I started paying $3.15. Gotta love illegal workers at McDonalds!
