What Indianapolis is Saying About Illegal Immigration

As we keep our eye on Indianapolis, the midwest mid-size city that few realize has a serious illegal immigration problem, we find some related comments from Indianapolis and Indiana officials.
“The overwhelming majority of people who come to this country illegally do so for harmless economic motives, but there is a significant number of illegals who represent a criminal element, who are fleeing Mexico and other countries in Central America, who come to America and are doing harm. (Keeping illegal immigrants out of the United States) has been one of the most compelling and enduring arguments for a new temporary worker program.
“Congress has failed the American people in this regard. What this (Jonathan Castillo) case reminds us of is there is a human cost to political failure. . . . We see real problems, and Congress doesn’t seem to be able to overcome partisan bickering to come up with solutions.”
– U.S. Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind.
“Indiana is a prime location for immigrants, because they know that if they get here, as long as they don’t commit a felony, they will stay. Indiana now has to learn how to deal with a foreign population that doesn’t speak English.
“Until they can find a way to give them a driver’s license while they are here or figure out a way to stop having illegal immigrants, police will have a problem identifying illegal immigrants.”
– Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Sgt. Matthew Mount, who developed a training program that teaches Spanish language and Hispanic customs to public safety officers in and around Marion County
“It’s not just an issue of economics or an issue of workers. It’s an issue of how safe do I feel because we are not willing to deal with the reality of this situation. Our tendency as a society is to blame the whole problem on the workers, the people who are trying to support their families, not the big wigs. . . . This information is disturbing about illegal immigration. There are so many people that are outraged by thr Governments unability to handle this situation! We grow up here, thinking we are in a country where we should be safe! Only to find out that we are getting RAPED BY OUR OWN GOVERNMENT FOR MONEY!!! When you see illegal immagrants that are uneducated, and socially disabled, and getting a free hand out from the government, it can make a person extremely enraged. They come here getting everything they desire, by STEALING EVERYTHING THEY WANT!! When an AMERICAN CITIZEN needs tending to it seems to be extremely difficult to get assistance. It’s like your an American you shouldn’t need help, your in America we have all the jobs, great care facilitie’s, and all the public assistance you need, and we believe in EQUAL OPPROTUNITY???? we have all the great jobs with extremely low unemployment. The government needs to realize this country will some day fall!! all for their greedy need for money. If their going to let these people stay here, they need to provide, and enforce educational programs for these people so they can learn how to be civilized, law abiding citizens, AND MAKE THEM LEGAL!!
I fully support LEGAL IMMIGRATION, BUT WILL ALWAYS OPPOSE ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION. Contrary to what has been said by these PRO ILLEGAL ALIEN SUPPORTERS, WE ARE NOT A NATION OF IMMIGRANTS. ON the contrary, we are a nation of AMERICANS DESCENDED FROM IMMIGRANTS. There is a clear distinction between legal and illegal immigrants, but you can’t tell that to many politicians on both sides of the aisle, along with alot of big business types who only want more profit through the use of illegal alien labor. And let us not forget that there are many illegal aliens in our nation who are engaged in many violent acts-RAPE, ROBBERY, MURDER AND EVEN THE MOLESTATION OF INNOCENT CHILDREN! Also, there are many illegal aliens who come here demanding anything and everything, even in preference to Americans who need help and exhibit a higly disrespectful attitude towards our nation and its laws. Unfortunately these stories are never covered by the media because they are overwhelmingly LIBERAL. What we must do is SEAL THE BORDERS, and start enforcing the immigration laws to the letter. Once this is done, many of these illegals will get out of here. If this isn’t done at the very least, I fear this real threat to our nation and people will grow worse and result in increased civil unrest. Possibly civil war. God help us if that happens, and you just heard that from an agnostic.
